Tenuta di Sesta, Camponovo 2021

Tenuta di Sesta is one of the most celebrated wineries in Tuscany. Founded in 1850, it is still in the same family to this day. Most well-known for their imperious Brunello di Montalcino, the Ciacci family behind Tenuta di Sesta produce wine with a full respect for their land. They are able to express the intensity, elegance and determined character of the area, together with its oldest traditions, and make some truly phenomenal wine in the process. Camponovo 2021 is made from a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Colorino; the former providing the fruit and latter providing the deep colour and tannin. Packed with intensely fruity notes of red cherry, plum and raspberry; the palate is rich and moreish. The wine was aged in stainless steel to retain freshness and that certainly shines through on the finish. A great wine to pair with pizzas or BBQs.
